This year, as the Rotary clubs in Belize hosted the annual Uniendo America Project Fair for the second time in the Fair's history, our club presented the following projects. Click on the names of each to find out more:
CrimeStoppers Belize, a project to develop educational anti-crime programs for young people.
Wheels of Care, a van for the Child Care Center that would allow safe transport for the resident children and staff.
Freedom House, a project to fully equip a halfway house for former prison inmates, to allow for better re-integration into society.
Mercy Care Center for the Elderly, a program to refurbish the roof of the facility and assist with refurbishing the facility to provide better eldercare.
Morgue Van, to provide a van for the City Morgue in order to allow for more hygienic and respectful treatment of deceased persons.
Risograph Project for High Schools, to provide high schools with risograph printing equipment, which is essential but unaffordable for these schools.
Scholarship Program, to provide high school scholarships to deserving youths from low income backgrounds.
Projects assisting the Kolbe Foundation to rehabilitate the inmates of the Belize Central Prison to prepare them for a constructive life in the community after they have served their prison sentences include:
Life Skills for Life, promoting basic life skills to prison inmates, ranging from hygiene to parenting, and more.
