On 2nd July at Old Belize the Rotary Club of Belize carried out its annual change of leadership. Outgoing President Sandra Bedran reported on the club’s accomplishments during her year in office, after which incoming President Ellison Flowers introduced his board and the club’s objectives for the 2008/2009 Rotary Year. Priority projects he detailed for the upcoming year include providing potable water, investing in shelter boxes for potential storm victims, an endoscopic clinic center, a school feeding program, along with our continuing support for Gift of Life. He listed several fundraisers already in planning, and ended his speech by promising that this year would be fun.
The Rotary Club of Belize has a membership of 56 and at the age of 51 is one of the oldest, most active service clubs in the country of Belize.
