August is celebrated by Rotary as Membership Month. As part of this month
Rotarians are urged to focus on membership in the following areas.

.       Recruitment,
.       Education,
.       Motivation,
.       Participation,
.       And Fellowship

Membership development is key to the success of Rotary as we take on the
challenge of meeting and exceeding the demands of community service and
humanitarian needs. Rotarians around the world continue to make community
programs a reality. Fellowship is at the heart of how Rotarians are
motivated to participate resulting in greater retention of our members.

Membership Development idea: 1) Host a Club Assembly to address membership
issues and ask members how they can contribute to your club's success. 2)
Host a Rotary Open House, where each member invites at least 2 potential
members and is of course, open to the public. Conduct short speeches on what
Rotary is and the history of our club and what the club is conducting.
Distribute Rotary literature or the www.rotary.org website or your club's
website. Food is always a motivator!

Let's keep the Membership Development topic ongoing. Let's invigorate our
clubs and our membership and let's make sure that we are growing our club's
through recruitment and the retention of quality membership.
